After being India’s commander-in-chief for nearly three years, Dravid has decided to call it quits. His good friend and NCA head, VVS Laxman, isn’t eager to take the high-profile job either. One of their teammates, Harbhajan Singh, has also declined it now.

He joins the esteemed list of coaches or ex-cricketers like Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Stephen Fleming, Andy Flower, Tom Moody, Mahela Jayawardene, and Kumar Sangakkara, who have all clearly stated that coaching Team India isn’t for them.
Speaking with the Times of India, the former Indian cricketer said this isn’t the right time for him to take the job. When the time comes, he’ll show his interest and apply for it.
“I don’t think I will be able to give that much time. At this stage of my life, I have a young family, and I need to be around them and look after them. Yes, when the right time comes, I will put my foot forward and say I am ready for it,” Harbhajan Singh said.
