No political message, ICC bans slogans in support for jailed Imran Khan at T20 World Cup

Supporters of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan were asked to remove T-shirts sporting political messages during PAK vs CAN clash in New York

Spectators donning t-shirts supporting former Pakistan PM Imran Khan were reportedly asked to get rid of their attire by security officials at the Nassau County stadium in New York. The incident allegedly occurred during the PAK vs CAN clash on Sunday. The former World Cup winner has been jailed for over a year, and faces multiple cases registered against him.

Imran Khan supporters targeted in PAK vs CAN?

As per journalist Peter Della Penna, the flags of Imran Khan’s political party – PTI – were confiscated from supporters in the stadium. Another user claimed that he overheard the officials asking a guy to cover a t-shirt on which there was reportedly a picture of Imran Khan.
