No place for Yuzvendra Chahal in T20Is with T20 World Cup 2024 five matches away

Once a regular member, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal played his last 20-over match back in August 2023 against West Indies.

Despite performing well in the domestic competitions, ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been ignored once again from the T20 squad. However, the leggie will be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. After not being named in the T20 squad, Yuzvendra Chahal also uploaded a cryptic post on his Instagram account. To note, team India has just five matches left before they go on to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Chahal played his last T20I in August 2023

Once a regular member of the T20 squad, Yuzvendra Chahal played his last 20-over match back in August 2023 against West Indies. Speaking about his numbers in the shortest format of the game, Chahal has played 80 T20 matches for India and has scalped a total of 96 wickets at a decent economy rate of 8.19. The 33-year-old also has a five-wicket haul to his name while representing India in T20Is.

To note, the T20 World Cup will be played from June 4 to 30 in the West Indies and USA. At present, team India are facing Australia in a T20I series. With just two matches left in the series, team India will next face South Africa in a three-match T20I series.
