Strange things do happen in Cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board has now made a strict law for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). No outside food is allowed for the players in their team hotel. This is a major change from what the players did when they toured India last year for the ODI World Cup.
The PCB has made clear rules for the players. No outside food is allowed. Not only is the fitness an issue for the players. Along with it, it reduces the interaction with strangers, given that PCB are afraid of Match Fixing scandals in the PSL season 9.
Back in October when the Pakistan Cricket Team under Babar Azam’s captaincy visited India, they had a gala time. The team enjoyed India food, especially Biriyani. No beef was allowed to the Pakistani Team, in fact none of the 10 teams were provided with beef.
Initially at Hyderabad and then in different parts of the country, the Pakistani team had their fair share of different food items. In the city of Nizams, Babar Azam and Co gorged on Hyderabadi Biriyani. But that was not the case in Kolkata. In the city of Joy, the Pakistani Team ordered Biriyani from outside via food apps.
After Pakistan’s disastrous performance in the ODI World Cup, the team and PCB are keen to keep their players fit and ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup. As a result, the new rule has been passed which means no outside food is allowed.
