No more yawning! Pakistan coach Hafeez sets $500 fine for sleeping on ground, upsets players

The Pakistan team is reportedly dissatisfied with new head coach Mohammed Hafeez for imposing stringent SOPs

The Pakistan team currently touring Australia is reportedly upset with head coach Mohammed Hafeez setting stringent SOPs for the side. Hafeez, who took over as head coach after the side’s dismal World Cup 2023 run, has imposed strict rules including a steep penalty if Pakistan players are found sleeping or displaying disinterest.

No more sleep on field? Hafeez pisses off Pakistan

As per Cricket Pakistan, informal conversations between players in the Pakistan camp indicate dissatisfaction amongst the unit regarding the SOPs. The report by the publication further suggests that the team likens the approach similar to what was applied for the side’s teenage U-16 team.

Further, the Men in Green believed that there was a lack of trust on the players from the management side behind the strict rules. Cricket Pakistan reported that ‘The players seem to be grappling with the heightened restrictions and the apparent departure from the usual norms they are accustomed to’.

Meanwhile, head coach Hafeez asked the team to avoid displaying lethargy on field, urging them to uphold high standards.
