No more weird bowling action: Watch World No 1 Jasprit Bumrah inspire future of England cricket

Two videos surfaced on social media on Wednesday in which two different budding cricketers of England can be seen imitating Bumrah's action.

When Jasprit Bumrah broke into the Indian cricket scene in 2016, a lot of eyebrows were raised because of his peculiar bowling action. Cut to 2024, Bumrah has established himself as one of the mainstays of India’s pace bowling in all three formats. More than his wicket-taking skills, his out-of-the-box bowling action is inspiring upcoming fast bowlers not only in India but in other countries as well.

Two videos surfaced on social media on Wednesday in which two different English bowlers can be seen imitating Bumrah’s action. While one bowler from the England’s country cricket can be seen bowling in Bumrah’s action on a stadium, the other video features a 7-year-old child bowling with Bumrah’s action in the nets.

The speedster has the ability to swing the ball both ways but his action was a subject of discussion more than his bowling prowess when he started playing cricket. Bumrah became world’s no.1 bowler in Tests on Wednesday. It is a matter of pride for Bumrah too that future fast bowlers of different countries are looking up to him.
