No more two bouncers in one over? BCCI to review rule for IPL, domestic cricket: Report

BCCI had decided to implement the two-bouncers rule in both Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and IPL earlier but is now reviewing it

The BCCI will review the Impact Player and two-bouncers rules in the IPL and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. While the Impact Player rule is already a hot topic of discussion amongst players and analysts, the two-bouncers rule is now in the spotlight. The two-bouncer rule was introduced in the domestic season last year following which it made its debut in IPL.

Another rule change for IPL?

As per Cricbuzz, BCCI will review the decision to allow two bouncers in one over, in both IPL and SMAT. The decision was welcomed by the franchises when it was implemented. However, international rules allow for only one bouncer to be bowled in an over. BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that a decision will be taken and communicated to the teams soon.

We understand that Impact Player and two bouncer rules are the key points and no decision has been taken,” said an official of a state unit.

As per the report, the state associations are yet to be informed about the Impact Player and two-bouncers rules. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is scheduled to start in November.
