No more Big Show for RCB? Glenn Maxwell drops huge hint by unfollowing IPL team on social media

Glenn Maxwell has been a regular in RCB's playing XI for the team over the last few years and has played some memorable knocks

Explosive Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell might be looking to be a part of a new team in IPL 2025. Ahead of the mega auction in December, the Aussie has unfollowed his current franchise RCB on Instagram. Maxwell has been a regular in the playing XI for the team over the last few years and has played knocks which are memorable for his big-hitting capability.

Maxwell to leave RCB?

In 10 innings, Maxwell managed to score just 52 runs for RCB in IPL 2024.

RCB to hunt for new captain?

Faf du Plessis‘ captaincy is under scrutiny. In his first season as skipper (IPL 2022), RCB reached the third spot but fell short in the playoffs. While Faf was the team’s highest run-scorer that year, their performance in IPL 2023 was less impressive, finishing sixth on the points table.

But in IPL 2024 after a dismal start to the campaign, RCB registered six consecutive wins to make it to playoff where they were eliminated by Rajasthan Royals.

Road Ahead for RCB ahead of IPL 2025

RCB faces a significant off-season. They need to address not just the captaincy issue but also their overall team composition, particularly their bowling attack. The upcoming auction will be a crucial test for RCB as they strive to build a team capable of finally clinching that elusive IPL trophy.
