Virat Kohli has decided not to go the Roger Federer way! The biggest sporting icon in India will remain with PUMA as their brand ambassador. With rumors of the cricketing superstar leaving the sports giant to sign up with Agilitas Sports, the company has denied the claims of Kohli leaving the brand.
Quashing the rumors of Virat Kohli leaving the brand, PUMA India’s managing director, Karthik Balagopalan, said in an official statement, “PUMA’s relationship with Virat Kohli is long-standing and continues.”
Virat Kohli’s long-standing deal with PUMA
The sporting giant roped in Kohli as their brand ambassador in 2017. The global sports icon agreed to a whopping Rs 110 crore deal, joining the likes of Usain Bolt and Pele, among others.
Since Kohli joined PUMA, several other Indian athletes, including Mohammed Shami, Mary Kom, Harmanpreet Kaur, Sunil Chhetri, and Avani Lekhara, have joined the brand as their ambassadors.
“It’s a privilege to be part of the great list of athletes that Puma has. Not just today’s icons like Usain Bolt but also the brand’s rich history with Pele, Maradona, Thierry Henry, and others,” Virat Kohli said when he joined the club in 2017.
