Fans of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team were anguished with the quality of the broadcast from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side returned to action after 4 months but fans had little to no means to watch their stars in action. There is no IND-W vs BAN-W LIVE Broadcast, and the live streaming quality was substandard at best. The stadium was largely empty despite free entry, and no DRS or speed gun was available.
India’s return to action was anticipated with fans waiting to see Harmanpreet Kaur and Co in action. However, with no official broadcasters, the excitement quickly died down. While BCB provided free live streaming on their YouTube channel, the quality was inferior. Such was the shambolic streaming, that one could hardly make out jersey numbers or recognise the players.

The match itself had no DRS or speed gun. The Shere Bangla National Stadium hosted India Men’s team in December last year, where both the DRS and speed gun were available. However, for the women’s team game, the BCB decided to save costs and snubbed the technology. India’s appeal for Shamima Sultana’s wicket was also not given out and a DRS could have come in handy.
The fans were clearly disappointed with the quality of the streaming on display. Many took to social media to lambast BCB for the service. Meanwhile, many pointed out how shambolic it was that there wasn’t an official broadcaster in India for the series. Doordarshan, who stepped in to broadcast the IND vs WI series last year, will continue to do so this year as well. However, for women’s cricket there is no such saviour.
