There will not be another mouth-watering India A clash against arch-rivals Pakistan after the latter were knocked out of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup in the semi-final. Sri Lanka secured a comfortable 7-wicket win against Haris and co. to punch their ticket to the final. India A will take on Afghanistan A in the second semi-final.

Pakistan only managed to put up a score of 136 runs in 20 overs, with only opener Omair Yousuf managing to shine with a 68-run knock. The rest of the top and the middle order collapsed as Dushan Hemantha struck four times to wreak havoc on the Shaheens. Seven of the eleven Pakistan batters finished their innings with a single-digit score, hence not really allowing the team to set a good total.

Opener Yashodha Lanka was given out in a controversial fashion for obstructing the field. The Mohammad Haris led Pakistan side decided to not waste an opportunity and appealed to the umpire who upheld it. The team, however, was called out for their decision on social media, with fans lamenting over lack of sportsmanship.
