No Hardik Pandya! Suryakumar Yadav names MI’s Playing XI vs CSK, Rohit Sharma to open with Rickelton

Catch the playing XI for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2025 clash vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Mumbai Indians (MI) will be without their regular captain Hardik Pandya in their high-octane clash against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). At the MA Chidambaram Stadium, the sea of Yellow won’t see Pandya, who is serving a one-match suspension due to slow over-rate from last year. He will play the next match, however. Against CSK, MI are put to bat first by Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Suryakumar Yadav, meanwhile, is leading MI without Pandya. Talking about Mumbai’s playing XI, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Ricketlton will open the batting. Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Will Jacks are slotted to come in next, while Robin Minz and Naman Dhir will be the finishers. In the bowling front, Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult will assume the new ball roles, while Mitchell Santner will be the spinner. Due to the Impact player rule, Karn Sharma is likely to come in the second innings when MI bowls.

Suryakumar Yadav during toss vs CSK

“We were looking to bat to be honest. When there was wins, there wasn’t any dew. We were here three days earlier and we have got used to the conditions. Both are unbelievable franchises given their record so everyone has to be professional. After 18 years, both stand at five five. Four foreign players are Rickelton, Jacks, Santner and Boult.”
