Centurion of the last match, Will Jacks is in deft touch currently. But the ace batter is now currently focused on his time, i.e Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With RCB still mathematically fighting for a spot in the IPL Playoffs, Englishman Will Jacks claims that the team is heading in the right direction and he doesn’t have added pressure on his shoulders.
In the previous game, RCB was tasked to chase 201 runs by Gujarat Titans. While RCB has a comparatively low Net Run Rate, Jacks has claimed that they want to do the simple things and keep progressing forward.
No Extra Pressure
With 4 games left in the group stage, RCB are now placed at the bottom spot in IPL 2024. But there is still a hint of them making it to the top 4. “What we have spoken about as a batting unit, is playing with freedom. At the beginning of the competition, we were probably behind the other teams in terms of run rate and not getting the results we desired,” Will Jacks said.
“We spoke long and hard about how to get to those 200-plus scores that we have seen across the competition. I wouldn’t say it adds more pressure. We just know what we have to do and we are keeping it simple and that’s what has been working for us recently. We are moving along in the right direction. It is a shame it didn’t happen a few games earlier but there is still a chance for us. We have four games left. We are going to try and give our best, one by one,” Jacks added.
jacks also opened up on how he loves hitting the ball during the powerplay. He claims that hitting the balls for consecutive boundaries outside of the powerplay is a hard thing to do. However, in his previous game, he took just 10 balls to rush from 50 to score a scintillating century.
