No drama in SL vs BAN this time around as players ensure amicable finish with handshakes

Despite many controversies marking this tie in the past, the players behaved amicably after the match, shaking hands with their counterparts.

Cricket fans were waiting eagerly for the conclusion of the SL vs BAN match in the T20 World Cup. Previously, the match between these two teams have produced innumerable controversial moments ranging from verbal altercation to the ‘time-out’ saga and Bangladesh’s subsequent mocking of the incident. However, this time around, there was no controversy after the match as the players avoided any kind of altercation.

Handshakes all around

The SL vs BAN match turned out to be a low-scoring one, as has been the case with most matches in the USA. After Bangladesh won the tie with an over to spare, both team’s players engaged in amicable handshakes with no bad blood being visible between the players of the two teams. Even Angelo Matthews was seen walking up to the Bangladesh batters and shaking their hands.

Nervy finish to low-scoring SL vs BAN game

To talk about the match, Bangladesh survived a late collapse to win the ‘Naagin Derby’ by two wickets. Bangladesh’s excellent bowling display grabbed the limelight in the first innings as Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain claimed three wickets each.

While chasing 125, it looked like Bangladesh will cruise to victory when Liton Das and Towhid Hridoy were batting. However, a late collapse ensured a nervy finish to the game. Bangladesh held on to their nerves to finish the match with an over to spare.
