No ban for Shaheen Afridi: PCB won’t take disciplinary action against ace speedster

Saved! Contrary to reports Pakistan Cricket Board clarifies no disciplinary committee formed to ban Shaheen Afridi for PAK vs BAN Test series

It is good news for Shaheen Afridi and the Pakistan Cricket Team. Contrary to reports the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not going to form a Disciplinary Committee to ban Shaheen Afridi. PCB has claimed that no such committee has been formed and no player would be charged accordingly.

Shaheen Afridi found himself in hot waters for his misbehavior and was slated to be banned for the Bangladesh vs Pakistan Test series. But that won’t be the case. Reports in Pakistan claim that Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten has intervened into the matter.

No Ban for Shaheen Afridi

“No disciplinary committee has been formed, nor has any decision been made to take action against any cricketer. The news about the formation of the committee and the task of making a report are baseless and contrary to the facts. The news regarding the imposition of bans and fines on players is fabricated,” the PCB said in a statement.

Following Pakistan’s group stage exit in the T20 World Cup, Shaheen found himself in the center of a massive controversy. Apparently Shaheen had an altercation of heated words with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf when the pacer bowled consecutive no balls in practice.

But now reports claim that the matter has been put to bed. Shaheen won’t be banned for his disciplinary issues as the incident has been deemed as an incident which falls under heat of the moment.
