However, skipper Nitish Rana came to KKR’s rescue and scored a blistering half-century. The highlight of Rana’s innings was the final over of powerplay where the batter smashed 28 runs off Umran Malik’s over.
Rana smashed the pacer all around the park. Umran started the over with a short ball, which Rana pulled for a four. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer continued to bowl short, and Rana was ready for it. He smashed the second ball for a maximum over mid-wicket.
Umran then bowled three back-to-bak bouncers which Rana dispatched for boundaries. The last ball of the over was clocked at 149.1 kmph, and Rana hit it for a six over backward point.

Rana scored 75 off 41 balls before getting dismissed by T. Natarajan. KKR still needed 57 off 3 overs with Rinku Singh at the middle. But the batter could not pull off another miraculous chase as KKR eventually fell short by 23 runs. Rinku remained unbeaten on 58 off 31 balls.
