Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his dream run in Test cricket, bringing a stunning century in second IND vs ENG Test in Vizag on Friday.
Rather than going for hammer and tongs, Jaiswal went with a different approach and picked his bowlers to score runs. The strategy worked perfectly as the Indian opener scored an unbeaten 179 to power India to 336/6 at the end of Day 1.
Moments after Jaiswal’s stunning knock, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s 4-year-old comment on youngster’s post where he had termed the Indian opener ‘next superstar’ resurfaced.
Notably, Rohit had commented ‘Next Superstar’ on a picture shared by Yashasvi Jaiswal on his Instagram handle four years ago.
While it was a perfect day for Jaiswal, skipper Rohit Sharma had a poor outing with the bat. Rohit, who has two centuries to his name at Vizag, failed to get going against James Anderson and Co and was dismissed by debutant Shoaib Bashir on 14.
