New changes and New Setup - WPL 2024 likely to follow caravan model in Bengaluru and Delhi

New Season, New Setup and Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to be bigger and better. After a successful inaugural season, WPL 2024 is now set to be a two city affair. As per latest reports, WPL 2nd season is set to be held in a caravan model in Bengaluru and Delhi.

While season 1 was held in it’s entirety in Mumbai, WPL 2024 will be held in Delhi and Bengaluru. But that is not all, as per a Cricbuzz report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning a different way for the games to be hosted across the two cities.

While the IPL follows the traditional home and away system, that won’t be the case in WPL which features just 5 teams. But it is believed that the apex body has proposed an idea of hosting the first batch of games in Bengaluru, while the remainder of the games will be hosted in Delhi.

If the idea gets green light, then the bandwagon like a caravan will move from Bengaluru to Delhi to play in the last leg matches and then go to feature the playoffs and final.

A total of 22 games will be played in WPL 2 comprising of 20 league matches and 2 playoffs. It is understood that the WPL is likely to commence on 22nd February and conclude on 17th March.
