Last week, speculations of Gill being sent back home to disciplinary issues started doing rounds in the news circuit. Additionally, rumours of an alleged rift with skipper Rohit Sharma were circulated on social media. However, Gill quashed the rumours by sharing a picture with the Hitman and his daughter and a witty caption.

Shubman Gill failed to make it to India’s 15-man squad of the T20 World Cup and was named among the travelling reserves along with 4 other players. However, reports emerged that Gill would be sent home along with Avesh Khan before the Super Eight stage begins.
