Kohli provided Dhoni's example to explain how the latter's mindset has helped him finish numerous matches for India.

It is not a secret that Virat Kohli has been influenced by MS Dhoni quite a lot. Kohli has played under Dhoni’s leadership for quite a few years and India have seldom seen a better finisher that Mahi. Kohli in a chat on Jio Cinema opened up on MS Dhoni’s mindset while talking about keeping outside noise at bay.

I don’t need to react to outside noise. I know what I can do on the ground. I don’t need anyone to tell me how good a player I am or what my ability is. I never asked someone how to win matches. I’ve experienced the situation in the middle, failed and learned. If you’re consistently winning matches for your team, it is not a case of sheer luck,” Kohli said when asked about how he handles outside noise.
