Never a dull day in Pakistan cricket, now T20 skipper Shaheen could be removed from post

As Lahore Qalandars' skipper in this year's PSL, Shaheen Shah Afridi has won only one match in 10 outings.

Another drama is on the verge of unfolding in Pakistan cricket, it seems. Now T20 skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi‘s captaincy is under scanner, as per a report in Cricketpakistan.com.pk. This year, at the PSL, Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars are at the bottom of the points table, having won the trophy in the last two seasons.

As per the report, sources have revealed that PCB chairman has been getting suggestions for captaincy change. One school of thought is of the opinion that Shaheen is too young for leading Pakistan, while the other thinks, it might prove disastrous for the team, to change a captain closer to the T20 World Cup.

If at all the captain is changed, Mohammad Rizwan could be handed over the reigns of the team. Babar Azam could be in contention too. All depends on the upcoming Pakistan vs New Zealand series, and the decision on the new captain could be made soon.

Coaching Troubles in PCB

The PCB is yet to finalise a coach as well. While the name of Shane Watson was thrown in, but it seems, the money he has asked for, could be in millions. No positive response has come from Watson, who is the coach of Quetta Gladiators in the PSL. Similar is the case with Kiwi Mike Hesson.
