Fakhar Zaman defends Azam Khan
But Pakistan top order batter Fakhar Zaman has come to the aid of his teammate. He hit back at the trolls and the media for the nepotism claims. Zaman went on to reveal that Azam Khan’s journey has been filled with struggles. And the player himself has made it to the team based on his incredible journey and talent.
“I can also say that you’ve came here by recommendation, but it would be a good thing if you see how a player has come, how much struggle he has gone through. In my opinion, you should also come after doing a little research first,” Fakhar said.
Currently, Azam Khan is in England to take part in the ENG vs PAK T20I series, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. And he has been named in the 15-member squad.
Why Nepotism?
Since Azam Khan is the son of former Pakistan Cricketer Moin Khan, fans have often slandered Azam. While fans have continued to troll Azam, the Men in Green have not taken the matter lightly. The keeper batter has already featured 11 times for Pakistan in the shortest format of the game.
Had nepotism been the case, the n playing more than 10 games for the nation would be a huge deal. In fact, the 25-year old also has found his name in the T20 World Cup squad and will be traveling to USA. Yet to shine bright, Azam will definitely take the opportunity to make his name in the ICC event.
