Team India will be wary of the Steve Smith threat in the IND vs AUS World Cup final. The right-handed batter has had a solid record against the Men in Blue and never fails to perform in crunch situations. Steve Smith has scored back-to-back centuries against team India in the knockout matches of ICC events.

Smith smashed century in the 2015 World Cup against India. The senior Australian batter stroked 105 runs in 93 balls as the Aussies thumped the Men in Blue by 95 runs.

Recently, Smith once again shattered Indian hopes as he scored 121 runs in the World Test Championship (WTC) final as the Australians lifted the WTC mace by defeating India by 209 runs.

The New South Wales batter has not been in his personal best in the ongoing tournament. However, Smith’s experience and ability to play spin makes him the best candidate to tackle Indian bowling line-up.

Meanwhile, Steve Smith lauded team India ahead of the World Cup final. The senior Australian batter said that the home side are playing some excellent cricket in the competition. “I really don’t know. They are the best team and have won 10 matches. India has a strong bowling attack. We will try to give a good performance against them,” he remarked, acknowledging the dominance of the Indian team,” Smith said to Star Sports.

“They are playing really good cricket. I don’t think they have lost a game in this World Cup. They are playing really well, they are going to be playing in front of 130,000 screaming fans. Yeah, it’s going to be a great atmosphere, I am looking forward to it,” he added.
