Neeraj Chopra picks alternate career option and it’s got nothing to do with sports

Neeraj Chopra is currently enjoying a break from his training and is in India before the start of the next season.

Can you ever imagine Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra doing anything else, other than throwing the spear to unimaginable distances? Well, the answer is a certain no, but it isn’t something that Neeraj himself has never given a thought. While talking at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Innovation Lab’s Leaders Meet India, the 25-year-old replied to a few quirky questions.

On being asked, what would have been if not a sportsperson, Neeraj said, “I like Photography a lot. I like to take pictures wherever I go.” He also replied on being asked a question on playing cricket, which cracked everyone up. He said, “I can bat well. I can also bowl some good bhatta (throw) balls if asked to.”

Neeraj was also asked questions about Bengaluru, his role model in javelin, his favourite sports movie, and the most stylish cricketers. And to everyone’s surprise, he was rather quick. “I have trained here in Bengaluru in 2016-17, I remember it. It was really good.” He revealed that his role model in javelin was Jan Zelezny, who has the world record in the discipline, with a best throw of 98.48m.
