“If we have too many worries, fears, and doubts, we have no room for living and loving. We need to practice letting go,” Kohli’s Instagram story read.

Virat Kohli and Rahane on field!

India was given a huge target to chase, but lost Shubman Gill (18 off 19) to a disputed catch before captain Rohit Sharma (43 off 60) and Cheteshwar Pujara (27 off 47) caused their own demise to make it 93 for three in the 31st over.

The biggest chase at The Oval is 263 runs, but Kohli and Rahane aren’t having much trouble, and the batting doesn’t seem too difficult on the penultimate day, so Indian supporters won’t give up hope going into day five.

In the first inning, Virat Kohli went out for 14 runs without bothering the scoreboard much. Despite the velocity and bounce of the surface, the batter appeared unfazed during the 444 run chase.

Kohli appeared to be batting on a different surface because of his propensity for shifting his stroke and taking advantage of errant deliveries. Ajinkya Rahane provided Virat Kohli with plenty of assistance as the pair cobbled together an unbroken partnership of 71 runs in 118 balls.

Team India need to rewrite Record books

Indian supporters would be prudent to disregard the numbers in the records that seem to indicate they have been given an impossible task. India needs to execute the most successful fourth-innings run chase in history if it hopes to win the first international ICC trophy in ten years.

When West Indies beat Australia in Antigua in 2003, they broke the previous record by chasing down 418 runs.

The fact that England scored 263 runs against Australia in 1902, the highest-ever successful run chase at The Oval, makes India’s task more challenging.
