National Cricket Academy: VVS Laxman NCA Head? Former India batsman has rejected the post of director of National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. National Cricket Academy: The National Cricket Academy Head has become a prestigious post after Rahul Dravid-led rejuvenation that saw the likes of Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Mohammed Siraj coming out of India A and U-19 setups. Apart from that, senior players are mandated to go through an NCA rehabilitation program following any injury.
However, as BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah have convinced Rahul Dravid to take charge of India’s head coach’s position following the T20 World Cup, they wanted the NCA to continue with the same legacy that Dravid left. The idea was to have an established Indian star like Laxman, who had scored 8,781 runs in 134 Tests.
