Sourav Ganguly hailed VVS Laxman for his devotion to Indian Cricket after he agreed to become the new NCA head. The former Indian batsman will be making a whole lot of sacrifices to take over the role, which would pay him significantly less than his current package.

“He is shifting to Bangalore for next three years from Hyderabad just to serve Indian cricket. It’s remarkable. Of course, his earnings will drop but yeah, he has agreed. His wife and kids will also shift. His children will now study in a school in Bangalore and there will be a massive change as a family to shift base. It’s not easy unless you are so devoted to Indian cricket,” Ganguly told PTI.

3. He will stop his association with IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad

VVS Laxman has been part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a long time as a mentor. He was a part of the backroom staff when SRH won the IPL 2016 title and reached the final 2 years later. To take the NCA role, Laxman will have to quit his post, where he is adored by the fans, to serve for the betterment of cricket in the country.

4. Laxman will have to halt all his work as a broadcaster, expert commentator

Not only will Laxman quit his mentor job, he will also be absent from the commentary box and the studio as he becomes the new NCA head. Laxman has found his mojo in the broadcast industry and is a regular commentator/analyst during India’s games, but will have to put a break to those paths to pursue his new role.

5. Laxman runs cricket academy, all that will have to be stalled now

Laxman runs his very own cricket academy in Telangana and his frequent visits to the school will cease as he shifts to Bangalore. Laxman, who is the the founder of the academy has built state of the art facilities to provide budding cricketers a pathway to success, but will be unable to oversee it during his NCA stint.
