Nasser Hussain terms India as favourites but pins hope on Bazball ahead of IND vs ENG Test series

Nasser Hussain, speaking to Sky Sports, said India were the favourites in the IND vs ENG Test series. However, he also expressed faith in England team's recent approach to Tests, claiming India might be in for a hard time.

The IND vs ENG Test series is a few days away. India will engage in a fierce battle involving five Tests. Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain has delivered a warning to India ahead of the series. Hussain refused to write ‘Bazball’ off and claimed India might struggle.

Bazball’s impact on English Test cricket is undeniable. Since the introduction of the partnership in May of 2022, England’s Test team has gone through one of the most impressive rebuilds in recent times. Under their guidance, England have adopted a fearless style of batting, with an emphasis on scoring quickly and taking risks, and it has paid off handsomely.

Nasser Hussain, speaking to Sky Sports, said India were the favourites in the IND vs ENG Test series. However, he also expressed faith in England team’s recent approach to Tests, claiming India might be in for a hard time.

“India are the favourites, but every single challenge Bazball has faced they’ve stuck to their guns and Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum’s record is seriously good, I wouldn’t write them off,” Hussain said.

“Bazball has been very successful especially at home and the two toughest places to tour are India or Australia. It’s going to be a massive challenge for England.

With no serious takers for the IND vs ENG Test series in England, TNT Sports has scooped up the right for the next 3 England tours of India.

“India want to see how this new approach will work at home. It will be fascinating cricket and will be interesting to see how this particular side will go against what is one of the great cricketing outfits at the moment, which is the India side,” Hussain added.
