A major blow has come for the Mumbai. Young talented batter Musheer Khan won’t be a part of the team and is set to miss the Irani Cup. Reports have emerged that the teenager while travelling to Lucknow suffered a fracture in a road accident. Musheer was travelling from Kanpur to Lucknow with his father when the road accident happened.
Musheer along with his brother Sarafarz was tipped to be part of the Mumbai squad who would take on the Rest of India for the Irani Cup. The teenage batting sensation was travelling to Lucknow with his father Naushan Khan when the road accident happened in Uttar Pradesh.
Alarming injury to Musheer Khan
The Irani Cup is slated to start on 1st October. But with Musheer suffering a fracture, he has ruled out of the game. “He didn’t travel with the Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He was probably traveling from his native place, Azamgarh, with his father, to Lucknow when the accident took place,” said a source to The Times of India.
“He met with an accident last night and will miss the Irani Cup. He will be flying back to Mumbai on Sunday. The medical team of MCA and BCCI is monitoring his situation. The BCCI will be doing another round of medical tests and scan once he returns,” an MCA official said.
Musheer has been top class in domestic cricket since last season. On his Duleep Trophy debut he hammered a brilliant 181 run knock against India A. Musheer is on line to be picked for India A when they shadow tour the India Cricket Team during their travel to Australia later on in the year.
