Musheer Khan outshines brother Sarfaraz, hammers century on Duleep Trophy debut

Musheer Khan has been on a purple patch, mustering 533 runs in his last six FC innings. It is also his maiden Duleep Trophy match.

Not one, but Naushad Khan has two potential India starts, Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan. While Sarfaraz’s abundance of runs on the domestic circuit managed his way to the Indian team, Musheer, despite being only 19, has attracted all the eyeballs. In the ongoing Duleep Trophy match between India A vs. India B, Musheer stood out phenomenally on the back of his vigilance and temperament.

IND B in trouble but Musheer stands out!

IND B lost their skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran in the 13th over when Musheer walked out to bat. However, next 61 runs saw IND B lose six more wickets as the team was in dire strait at 94/7. The likes of Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, and Khaleel Ahmed eyed to skittle down IND B within the 125-run mark.

Musheer takes down IND A spinners

However, Musheer stood tall. Although the talented right-hander played quite sedately initially, he took his game to another level when spinners came on. He did superbly to negotiate the seam movement that was on offer on a green top at M Chinnaswamy. However, the 2005-born, did his best against spinners, sweeping everything that pitched in fuller area.

Kuldeep and Tanush Kotian both bore the brunt of his attack as Musheer hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in order to get his outstanding century. Not to forget the contribution of Navdeep Saini, who himself toiled for more than 70 balls and made 29 runs. The two made a stand over 100 runs, completely derailing IND A’s momentum. Musheer and Saini added 108 runs by the end of the day as IND B’s score read 202/7 at Stumps.
