Rajasthan Royals on Friday announced that Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy star Tanush Kotian will replace Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa who opted out of IPL 2024 due to personal reasons.
“Tanush Kotian joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in place of Adam Zampa for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Tanush Kotian, who recently made solid all-round contributions as Mumbai won the 42nd Ranji Trophy title, joins RR for his base price of INR 20 Lac. He has represented Mumbai in 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games and 19 List A matches,” read a statement of IPL.
Kotian is an off-spinning all-rounder who excelled at Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy 2023-24 Ranji Trophy campaign. The off-spinner has 75 wickets in 26 first class matches and has scored 1152 runs at an average of over 42.

It is a shrewd replacement from Rajasthan Royals. With Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal leading the spin attack, they needed a batter lower down the order to strengthen their team, and they did just that by roping in Tanush Kotian.
