Mumbai Marines successfully chased down the 84-run target set by Shikhar Dhawan’s Northern Challengers in match number 4 of Big Cricket League on Saturday. MM beat NC by 6 wickets to clinch their second win of the tournament. Meanwhile, MP Tigers beat Rajasthan Regals by 74 runs to open their account in the ongoing tournament.

MM beat NC to secure second consecutive win in BCL

Batting first in the contest against MM, the Challengers lost an early wicket as opener Vishal Prasad (9) was the first to walk back to the pavilion. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan (30) played a lone-warrior knock while the rest of the side walked in an out of the field. The low-scoring contest saw NC being bundled out for just 83 runs and were bowled out in 15.5 overs.

In response, Mumbai Marines chased down the target in 14.5 overs, with Jesal Karia (44) leading the charge. While Anureet Sigh managed to get three wickets, Challengers were no match for the Marines as the latter picked up their second win of the tournament.

Rajasthan Regals humbled by MP Tigers

Madhya Pradesh Tigers set a mammoth target of 238 runs for Rajasthan Regals. Yusuf Pathan unleashed his fury on the bowlers with a fiery 86-run knock off just 54 deliveries, studded with 10 fours and five sixes. He was supported by opener Saket Sharma who scored 84 runs off 44 deliveries. In response, Regals only managed to score 163/9 in 20 overs, giving MPT their maiden win of the tournament. Pawan Negi was the standout bowler for MPT, bagging three wicket in the innings.
