Mumbai Indians dismiss claims of Rohit Sharma’s departure during IPL Trade window

Mumbai Indians have denied that Rohit Sharma can make his way out during the IPL trade window

Mumbai Indians have rebuffed the speculations regarding a trade involving former captain Rohit Sharma. The recently displaced captain was rumoured to have been looking for a way out of the Mumbai-based outfit with the IPL trade window opening on December 20.

Rohit Sharma was recently replaced by Hardik Pandya as the captain of the Mumbai Indians. Shrma have had a stellar campaign with the outfit as a skipper leading Mumbai to 5 IPL titles. While Rohit’s dismissal provoked huge discontent among fans, Sharma was said to have been on his way out. However, Mumbai Indians have now refuted the claims of that happening.

Rohit is not going anywhere, nor will any player. The news reports are totally fake and false. No MI player will be leaving us, nor will be traded by us,” an MI official told to Cricbuzz.

Soon after the captaincy change, reports emerged of Rohit Sharma being displeased with the dismissal. Even senior players like Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ishan Kishan were looking for an exit, displeased with the sudden decision. However, the official rebutted all the claims.

“Every player was taken into confidence before the decision was made. Rohit too was informed, and he is very much part of the decision-making process,” the official further said.

Delhi Capitals have already approached Rohit Sharma for a trade ahead of the IPL 2024 Auctions, However, Mumbai had turned down the deal. MS Dhoni-led CSK were also rumoured to be pursuing Rohit but seems like he India Skipper will continue with Mumbai Indians for the upcoming show.
