Karachi Kings who endured a very poor season, came very close to winning their last game against Islamabad United. Their death bowling was however woeful as they conceding 84 runs off the final 40 balls. This helped Islamabad score 191 on the board and Karachi lost the game by just a single run.
Against a team like Multan Sultans that has several batting talents, Karachi bowlers will need to be at their best to stand any chance of countering the challenge. Multan’s openers Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan are second and third in the overall run charts and they also have Tim David who has scored 221 runs at a strike rate of 206.54. Khushdil Shah and Rilee Rossouw have also shown good batting credentials at the death and Kings will be wary of the threat this batting order possess.
Babar Azam has been their best batter for Karachi Kings as he has scored 266 runs. Apart from Babar the team also has batters like Sharjeel Khan, Joe Clarke, etc, but all of them have failed so far. The bowling unit has also not been upto the mark thorughout the season so far. Umaid Asif is their best bowler with eight wickets. Against a strong team like Multan, the bowlers need to do something to restrict the run-flow. Otherwise an eighth loss is on the cards for the Babar Azam led team.
