“Much in demand” Rishabh Pant bags contract worth Rs 18.75 Cr at KKR mock auction

Rishabh Pant is expected to be the most expensive player at the IPL Auction, on November 24, 25.

IPL Auction is set to happen in Jeddah on November 24, 25, where the fate of some of the biggest Indian cricketers will be sealed for IPL 2025. One of the biggest names to feature in the auction will be Rishabh Pant, who is expected to be the most expensive buy ever, in the tournament history. But before we reach that stage, there is still a few days left.

Rishabh Pant at IPL Auction

Having said that, the fans got a glimpse of, the ripples Rishabh Pant might create at the IPL Auction. On Wednesday, a bunch of fans were part of the KKR Mock Auction, where five teams were in the fray. Pant also went under the hammer, and was eventually bagged by Golden Knights, for a massive 18.75 Cr.

That made him the costliest buy at the KKR Mock Auction, where all the teams had a purse of INR 51 Cr each. So indeed, he might just be a hit with all the teams when the actual IPL Auction comes. It must be reminded, that Rishabh Pant was released by DC, after he spent eight years there.

No Surprises at KKR Mock Auction

In his 111 IPL matches, he went on to score 3284 runs at an average of 35, and a strike rate of 149. This year, in his comeback season, he smashed 446 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 155. Meanwhile, it is widely predicted that CSK would leave no stone unturned to find a suitable future replacement for MS Dhoni, who happens to be Pant.

After all, not only Pant has an experience of leading DC for years, but also Team India on certain occasions. And has been an exceptional performer across formats.
