MSK Prasad has no doubt about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s inclusion in India’s T20 side

Speaking on a Star Sports coverage, MSK Prasad, who has been India's chief selector in the past, said he would prefer to have all the main players available in IND vs AFG T20I series.

Former Indian cricketer MSK Prasad on Sunday strongly advocated Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s inclusion in the India squad for IND vs AFG T20I series and T20 World Cup scheduled later this year. Speculation has been ripe about Virat and Rohit’s availability in the IND vs AFG T20 series. It is noteworthy that India only have three T20Is before playing in the T20 World Cup. Although the Indian players will get plenty of time to prepare for the mega event by playing IPL 2024, IND vs AFG T20I series will be the last time India play a T20 International before World Cup.

“I would definitely prefer to have our main players play in the IND vs AFG T20 series. Afghanistan is a very positive side. I do understand that Rohit and Virat were given a break in the South Africa tour, and that was needed after the ODI World Cup,” Prasad said.

“We have done reasonably well with youngsters but now Virat and Rohit should definitely be a part of T20 World Cup and hence should play this series. I have no doubt that both of them will find a place in India’s T20 team,” Prasad added.
