The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) has reached its business end. In this year’s IPL, the fans have seen some power-packed performances from the veterans. Legends who might retire before IPL 2025
MS Dhoni
With five trophies, a zillion match-winning performances, and countless memories for his fans, MS Dhoni has almost accomplished everything possible in the league. With CSK getting out of IPL 2024, it looks likes MS Dhoni retirement news might be announced soon.
Faf du Plessis
Faf du Plessis has brought his best game while playing for RCB. Last year, he even finished the season as the most six-hitter with 36 maximums. However, at the age of 39 years, IPL 2024 could be the South African maestro’s last year as a player in the league.
Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan is another stalwart in the Indian Premier League. Overall, he is the second highest run-getter in IPL just behind Kohli. The left-handed veteran has been leading his franchise, Punjab, since last season, but it would most probably be his last for both PBKS and the IPL, with him being almost at the twilight of his career.
Piyush Chawla
Former IPL champ and MI leg-spinner, Piyush Chawla might also be playing his last IPL edition. Speaking about his IPL career, Chawla made his debut back in the first edition (2008). Since then, he has represented several franchises and has scalped 181 wickets in 184 matches.
Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik might also be playing his last IPL this year. Currently, he is representing RCB and has fared well with the bat so far. However, it feels like this might be Karthik’s last dance in IPL. To note, he is serving as a panelist and expert for a foreign sports broadcaster which might turn out to be his future permanent job in the cricketing arena.
