At the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala performed surgery on Dhoni. Sakshi, Dhoni’s wife, is by his side in the medical facility. On Wednesday, May 31, in the evening, Dhoni was checked into the hospital, just 24 hours after his IPL 2023 final win. Paridwala a sports medicine expert had earlier operated on Rishabh Pant for a related issue.
Dhoni made a commitment to return the next year and play one final season for his supporters. He said that it would be a ‘gift from him’ for the fans who supported him during the IPL season. Dr. Madhu Thottappil, the team doctor for CSK, has been sent to Mumbai to supervise Dhoni’s care. Although the precise timing of his complete recovery is yet unknown, it is anticipated that Dhoni will be back in action in approximately two months.
Dhoni had played the entire IPL season with a heavily strapped left knee and although he looked absolutely okay while keeping, more often than not he batted as late as No. 8 and didn’t look swift while running between the wickets. After leading the side to their fifth IPL title, though, Dhoni had said he would return for “at least” one more season for the fans, if his body allowed it.
