It was a day where the Apprentice outclassed the Master. Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals went on to Chennai Super Kings. DC went on to register their maiden win of IPL 2024, by beating Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs. However, at the end of the day, MS Dhoni was spotted with Rishabh Pant sharing a loving moment.
After the end of the game, Dhoni and Pant shared a hug showcasing the love and the bonding between the two players. Often in the past, Dhoni has been a mentor to young Pant. And with the two clashing for the first time in IPL 2024, it was also a heart-warming moment for the fans.
Both the Master and the Apprentice faired well with the bat. Rishabh Pant showed not a single bit of rustiness with the bat. He came to the crease and began his innings on a slow note. After settling down, he switched gears and went on to hit the CSK bowlers at hammer and tongs. Rishabh Pant blazed with the bat to slam a fine fifty, and prove that he is ready to fight for his spot for Team India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
But towards the end of the game, it was real treat for the fans. On came MS Dhoni who walked to the crease. The Vizag crowd raised the roof with a rousing reception for Thala. Dhoni did what Dhoni does best. It was vintage Dhoni hammering. The former CSK skipper, slammed 4 fours and 3 sixes to entertain millions of fans across the globe.
