In the video snippets circulating online, Reddy compared Dhoni and Kohli, stating, “Dhoni has talent, in the sense that…. talent is there but the technique is not there. Dhoni doesn’t have Virat Kohli’s range of techniques.” These snippets, shared online, sparked outrage from Dhoni’s legion of fans who perceived them as disrespectful towards the legendary cricketer.

Nitish Reddy backtracks!
Facing the heat, Reddy took to Instagram on Sunday to clarify his stance. He expressed his admiration for Dhoni and claimed his words were taken out of context. He further alleged that few people had cropped the video to create negativity. Reddy elaborated, “The question was about skill or mindset, which is the most important factor. I chose mindset, taking Dhoni bhai’s example. I believe mindset is crucial for success. What I said was taken out of context, with some cropping the video.” The youngster implored fans to “not spread negativity without hearing the full story.”
It’s important to note that Reddy’s impressive performance in the recently concluded IPL 2024 season has garnered him praise alongside the current controversy. The all-rounder displayed maturity, scoring 303 runs with two fifties and chipping in with three wickets with his medium pace bowling. His fielding also impressed.
