a) 84* vs RCB, IPL 2019, Bengaluru

CSK lost the match by 1 run, but it was MS Dhoni who stole the show with an unbeaten 84 runs against RCB at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing a target of 162 runs, CSK was tottering at 83/5. Dhoni slammed five boundaries and seven sixes at a strike rate of 175 to take CSK to touching distance. RCB held on to their nerves and bagged two points.

b) 54* vs KXIP, IPL 2010, Dharamsala

The match that is remembered for MS Dhoni losing his temper and letting his emotions do all the talking after smashing a six off Irfan Pathan, former Punjab bowler in Dharamshala to help Chennai Super Kings go into the knockouts in IPL 2010. Chasing a mammoth 198 runs to win, CSK captain MS Dhoni took charge after the top order collapse. MS Dhoni made unbeaten 79 runs in only 44 balls at a strike rate of 179.55. Unfortunately, CSK lost the match by 4 runs.

d) 75* vs RR, IPL 2019, Chennai

CSK took on Rajasthan Royals at Chepauk, and batted first. Once again, Chennai top order struggled at 88/4, and in came MS Dhoni. The CSK captain took on the likes of Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat. Dhoni contributed with 75 runs in only 46 balls and posted 175/5 that proved to be enough in the end. CSK won the contest by 8 runs.

e) 70* vs RCB, IPL 2018, Bengaluru

IPL 2018 was a season of comeback for Chennai Super Kings, and MS Dhoni, the batsman certainly played a role in the Yellow Brigade winning its 3rd IPL title. Chasing a target of 206 runs against RCB, Chennai’s top order collapsed and was struggling at 74/4. MS Dhoni took control of the situation and slammed unbeaten 70 in only 34 balls, to take CSK home by 5 wickets with 2 balls to spare.
