The duo met again after around 10 years in Kolkata. The meeting happened when Team India was staying in Taj Bengal, Kolkata. Sakshi, who was a hotel management student, was an intern with Taj Bengal, during Team India’s stay there.

On her last day of internship, Sakshi’s manager, Yudhajit Dutta introduced her to Dhoni, who instantly fell in love with her. Dhoni later asked Dutta for her number and texted her. After getting her number, Dhoni sent several texts to Sakshi, but she did not take them seriously. However, after repeated messages, the two finally started dating in March 2008. Sakshi also attended Dhoni’s birthday bash in 2008.

As stated above, Dhoni and Sakshi tied the knot on July 4, 2010, in Dehradun. The wedding was attended by Dhoni’s friends from the sports, politics, and film fraternities. It is to be noted that Sakshi was not a known face before her marriage to Dhoni. The couple were blessed with a baby girl, Ziva Dhoni, on February 6, 2015. She was born in Ranchi and remains one of the most celebrated individuals in the country.
