Most Test Wickets: Stuart Broad Completes 600 Test Wickets, Inches Close to Anil Kumble

Stuart Broad needs just 19 more wickets to get past Anil Kumble and grab the 4th spot in Most Test Wickets.

Most Test Wickets: England’s senior pacer Stuart Broad completed a major milestone as he scalped his 600th Test wicket. He achieved the feat by dismissing Travis Head in the fourth Ashes Test being played in Old Trafford, Manchester. Broad is just 19 wickets behind to go past Anil Kumble and claim the fourth spot for most scalps in Test cricket history.

Players with most Test wickets:

1. Muttiah Muralidaran (Sri Lanka) – 800 wickets in 133 matches

2. Shane Warne (Australia) – 708 wickets in 145 matches

3. James Anderson (England) – 688 wickets in 182* matches

4. Anil Kumble (India) – 619 wickets in 132 matches

5. Stuart Broad (England) – 600 wickets in 166* matches

Speaking about Broad’s numbers in Test cricket, he played 166 Tests so far and grabbed 600 wickets at an average of 27. He has 20 five-wicket hauls to his name with the red ball. Broad has been bowling well in the current Ashes series. The senior pacer will look to continue its good form with the ball ahead as well.

Meanwhile, Australia finish the Day 1 on 299/8 with Mitchell Starc and skipper Pat Cummins in the middle. For England, Chris Woakes has been impressive scalping four wickets. Moeen Ali and Mark Wood have scalped one wicket each. The visitors will be eyeing atleast 350 in their first innings.
