And now the Hitman has hammered a magnificent ton to register the Most T20I tons in the history of the sport. With 5 tons, Rohit has moved ahead of SKY and Maxwell who have 4 tons under their belt.
It has been a competition between the trio. Maxwell hammered India in the IND vs AUS 3rd T20I to reach his 4th ton. SKY then destroyed the Proteas to match the Aussie and the Indian skipper. But Rohit Sharma, who made a comeback after 14 months, made 2 ducks and then roared in style to slam his 5th ton in the shortest format of the game.
Rohit Sharma went all guns blazing despite India going being reduced to 22/4. Rohit reached his fifty from 41 balls and then raced towards the three digit mark. At the end of the innings, he went past his previous highest score. He slammed the highest score by an Indian batter in T20Is.
With 11 fours and 8 sixes, Rohit amassed 171 runs with a strike rate of 175. Courtesy of the fine knock from Rohit and an unbeaten 69 from Rinku Singh helped India post a big total of 212 against Afghanistan.
