Most Runs Uncapped Player: Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has broken a 15-year-old IPL record that previously belonged to former Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh in the IPL. Yashasvi Jaiswal now has the most runs by an uncapped player in the history of the IPL. The 21-year-old slammed a half-century in the Royals’ last league match against the Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. With the help of the half-century, Jaiswal finished the league stage for the Royals with 625 runs from 14 matches. Jaiswal broke Shaun Marsh’s record of 616 runs for the Punjab franchise in the 2008 IPL season, which was also the most runs for an uncapped player in a single IPL season. Yashasvi Jaiswal enjoyed a brilliant IPL 2023. In the 14 matches played this season, he smashed 625 runs with the help of one ton and five half-centuries. the southpaw registered an average of 48.07 and a strike rate of 163.61. He single handedly won Rajasthan Royals four matches this season.
The Rajasthan Royals opener also joined the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Ruturaj Gaikwad to have scored 600 runs or more in a single IPL edition before turning 25 year old.
Virat Kohli raked up 634 runs in IPL 2013, while Rishabh Pant smashed 684 runs in IPL 2018 for Delhi Capitals. Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad registered 636 runs in IPL 2021.
In IPL 2023, Jaiswal became only the second batsman after RCB skipper Faf du Plessis to have notched up 600 runs or more. Faf du Plessis is the only batsman with over 700 runs in this IPL edition.
