It was a horrible outing for Abhishek Sharma who was hit for 31 runs, thereby conceding one of the most expensive overs in the limited format of the game. The LSG batters went on to toy with the spinner as they hammered 5 huge sixes. Abhishek Sharma became the 6th bowler to have been hit for 5 sixes in a single over in the Indian Premier League.

5 Sixes against Abhishek Sharma

  • 15.1 – First Ball – 6 Runs – First ball of the over and Marcus Stoinis makes no mistake to go the distance. A simple full toss delivery and Stoinis hammers a 100 meter sixer into the crowd.
  • 15.2 – Second Ball – Wide – Second ball, Sharma comes over the wicket and misjudges the line and length. It goes wide of the leg stump and extra runs for LSG.
  • 15.2 – Second Ball – 6 Runs – Second ball of the over and Marcus Stoinis hammers the second six of the over. Full length ball and pitched right into the slot of the batter. Stoinis finds the ball in his arc and goes above the bowler for a maximum.
  • 15.3 – Third Ball – Wicket – A good comeback from the bowler. He goes round the wicket and pitches the ball loosely outside off. Stoinis stands grounded and moves to play a big shot. Mishit and an easy catch by Abdul Samad at long off.
  • 15.4 – Fourth Ball – 6 Runs – Nicholas Pooran comes to crease and begins his spell with a massive sixer. A quick ball and he goes massive. A splendid 105 meter hit into the crowd to turn the tide in his favour.
  • 15.5 – Fifth Ball – 6 Runs – Two in Two for Nicolas Pooran and the 4th sixer of the over. Another ball pitched right into the slot. Pooran reaches it and swings his arms. Good connection off the bat and into the crowd.
  • 15.6 – Sixth Ball – 6 Runs – Last ball of the over and Pooran hammers his third sixer. Round the wicket from Sharma and Pooran makes room, goes on his knees to go for the slog sweep shot. A big hit and the ball clears deep mid wicket and over the crowd.
