Most IPL Runs: MS Dhoni: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, is on the cusp of reaching a new milestone in his illustrious career as CSK play Gujarat Titans (GT) in the opening game of the Indian Premier League 2023. Dhoni, who has played in every IPL season since the T20 league’s inception in 2008, is nearing a significant accomplishment that would make him just the 7th player in the competition’s history to rack up 5000 or more runs. Dhoni currently has 4978 runs in the T20 competition and has played for the Rising Pune Supergiants and the Chennai Super Kings. He will surpass the 5000-run threshold in the franchise league if he gets 22 more runs against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 opener. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli is at the top with 6624 runs in 223 games. Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, and AB de Villiers are the batters who come after him.

10 Dinesh Karthik 229 97* 26.85 132.65 0 19 4376

However, there is still some uncertainty regarding Dhoni’s condition before the opening match against Gujarat. The franchise’s CEO does not believe that the wicket-keeper batter’s alleged slight injury will prevent him from playing against the Gujarat Titans. Dhoni is obviously not at the top of his game at the age of 41. He still captains the Chennai Super Kings, a franchise known for getting the most out of its seasoned players. Dhoni is anticipated to play a significant part for CSK in what may be his final season in the T20 league after having “bulked up” ahead of the 16th season of the league.
