Indian skipper Rohit Sharma joined another Elite list of players after he stroked an excellent century against West Indies in the first Test match being played at the Windsor Park, Dominica. He alongside debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal took on the home side bowlers as India dominated the Day 2 as well. Meanwhile, Rohit joined the likes of Kohli, Root, Smith and Warner for the most international centuries list amongst the active cricketers.

Rohit added a double-century stand with youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his Test debut. Notably, Rohit now has two centuries away from home in the longest format. To note, Rohit slammed his 10th century in Test cricket. He has become the 17th Indian to have slammed 10 or more centuries in the format. He registered only his second Test ton away from home. Rohit’s only other away century in the format came in the England in 2021.

Rohit also became the 20th Indian batter to reach the milestone of 3,500 runs in Test cricket. Among active Indian players, only Kohli (8,479), Cheteshwar Pujara (7,195), and Ajinkya Rahane (5,066) have scored more Test runs. Rohit, who has an average of over 45 in the format, achieved this feat in 51 matches.

Meanwhile, team India has got a stronghold in the match as they have already gained a lead of 100+ runs with Jaiswal eyeing a double-century on debut.
