Talk about including your name in an elite list. And England Cricket Team‘s ace batter Joe Root has done that. The Englishman has shattered records to his will and now finds himself in an extremely elite company. During England’s win over Sri Lanka in the 1st Test, Joe Root slammed a fifty which was his 64th overall half century in the longest format of the game.
And with 64 Test, Joe Root has gone on to overtake Rahul Dravid and Alan Border who have 63 Test fifties to their name. Only West Indian great Shivnarayan Chanderpaul and India’s legendary Sachin Tendulkar have more Test fifties than Joe Root.

Indian great Sachin Tendulkar tops the charts with 68 fifties to his name. He is followed by Chanderpaul who has 66 fifties. And with his present fifty (an unbeaten 62) against Sri Lanka, Joe Root finds himself third in the list with 64 fifties.
