World record chasing India put on a massive 210 on the board after being put in to bat by South Africa in the 1st T20I at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Ishan Kishan scored a stunning 76, while the likes of Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer chipped in with cameos to help the hosts put on a gigantic score.

In response, India were on top after Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Axar Patel all got wickets in the first half of the innings. David Miller, who played a starring role in Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2022 win, kept the Proteas in the hunt, while Rassie van der Dussen struggled at the other end with a sub-par strike rate of under 100.

The duo however turned it around, with Van der Dussen hitting the next gear, scoring 45 of his last 14 balls to get his team over the line with five balls to spare. It was the first time India failed to defend a 200+ total, and the highest successful run chase in South Africa’s history.
